Since 1992, we’ve been hard at work building on what our predecessors started. The vision continues.
“We exist to
bring people into the
kingdom
of God, into our fellowship for worship, to develop them to Christ like
maturity,
to prepare them for the work of the ministry and to send them out to
win others for Christ.”
Our Struggle
For several years we struggled with the lack of space to accommodate the growth. In 1994, we tore down the wall between the sanctuary and the fellowship hall to increase the seating capacity in our sanctuary. This however; created another problem; lack of classroom space. So in 1996, we built an educational wing to accommodate our Christian Education programs. Since then, we’ve had to go multiple services on Sundays and on Wednesdays we have to go outside on the premises and even in Pastor’s home to hold some youth classes.
The turn of the Century
At the turn of the century, we felt the need to leave our present facilities and look for property elsewhere. After much waiting, praying, fasting, asking, seeking and searching for the best deal on some land, we finally found it. One Sunday afternoon, I felt impressed of the Lord to walk and pray through the furrows of this beautifully plowed field. In unison, we claimed the 28 acres for Mid Valley Assembly. A few weeks later, with the awesome hand of God moving the heart of a gentleman in Houston, TX, we closed the deal. These twenty-eight acres are located on Expressway 83 and Pleasantview Drive in the beautiful city of Weslaco, TX - the heart of the Rio Grande Valley. The Lord couldn’t have worked it out better.
We were ready for the next step
After a couple of years and many
hardships, God has blessed us with
favor and have finished our construction.
Praise the Lord, we are in! We had our inaugural services on March 26 - 28, 2008; Wednesday through Friday, each night @ 7PM.
We're not done yet, we are believing the Lord for the following: |
